Laboratory Testing

Fugro Middle East laboratories offer a wide range of routine and specialist tests for geotechnical applications and construction materials control. The laboratory division functions under strict quality control procedures using calibrated equipment operated by experienced and trained technicians. The company's quality manual is modeled on ISO/IEC 17025 and conforms to local authority regulations and accreditations. All tests are conducted in accordance with internationally recognized British, American or European standards.

Soil and rock testing
Classification of materials, chemical analysis, permeability, consolidation properties, shear strength parameters including a full range of triaxial compression test.

Construction material testing
A full range of physical and chemical analysis including earthworks materials, concrete aggregates, fresh and hardened concrete, cement, water, asphalt, steel, ceramic tiles and natural stones

Pile testing
Dynamic high strain tests for the analysis of pile and hammer parameters by measurement taken during driving and predictions of pile bearing capacity. Sonic low strain integrity tests for pre-cast and cast in-situ concrete piles

Geophysical testing
Tests carried out include seismic refraction, reflection, ground probing radar, and electrical and thermal resistivity.

Instrumentation
Monitoring of loads, pressure and movements in soil, rocks and concrete or steel structures.

Building condition testing
In-situ sampling and testing including concrete coring and strength tests, sampling for salts, depth to reinforcement, surface hardness, bond strength, pulse velocity, and crack monitoring.
